Calling all foodies! The Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) is thrilled to announce a brand new annual event: the Autentico Aruba Culinary Festival. This exciting week-long celebration, taking place from October 7th to 13th, 2024, promises a delectable journey into the heart of Aruba's vibrant food scene.
A Melting Pot of Flavors:
Aruba's unique cultural tapestry is woven into its diverse cuisine. From authentic ethnic dishes to meticulously crafted contemporary creations, the Autentico Aruba Culinary Festival offers a captivating exploration for both locals and visitors.
The Festival Format:
The festival unfolds in two distinct parts:
Autentico Restaurant Week (October 7th - 11th): Restaurants across the island can participate by creating special menus, offering discounts, or hosting unique culinary events. Participating restaurants will be showcased on the Autentico website, allowing guests to easily discover their offerings.
Wilhelminastraat Pavilion (October 12th & 13th): Enjoy the historic ambiance of Wilhelminastraat in downtown Oranjestad for a vibrant weekend celebration. This two-day event features a delectable array of food and beverage stands showcasing the full spectrum of Aruban cuisine. Live entertainment along the streets and exciting competitions like the Bartenders Brawl and Iron Chef Aruba add to the festive atmosphere.
Calling All Restaurants!
The ATA invites restaurants to be part of this exciting culinary adventure. Here's how your establishment can get involved:
Wilhelminastraat Pavilion Participation:
Selection Process: Due to limited space, the ATA will carefully evaluate expressions of interest. The goal is to curate a diverse representation of Aruba's culinary landscape. Selected vendors will be notified by July 1st.
Free Participation: There is no fee to participate in the first year of the event. The ATA will provide booths, infrastructure, basic utilities, and a convenient wristband payment system to streamline transactions.
Benefits: Participating restaurants gain valuable exposure through pre-festival marketing campaigns and the opportunity to showcase their culinary talents to an estimated 1,500-2,000 guests per evening, including local food enthusiasts and visiting tourists.
Restaurants interested in participating must submit their application and two proposed menu items by Friday, June 14th at d.boekhouwer@aruba.com by the name of Diantha Boekhouwer.
